This recipe was produced by natural fermentation of ginger spice, natural yeast, sugar, lemon and cloves. The entire process takes about 5-6 days, and the finished product is completely worth the wait.
INGREDIENTS
For The Ginger Bug first day: 2 cups (500ml) filtered water.
3 tablespoons finely chopped or grated ginger with skin
2 tablespoons (28g) granulated sugar
Ginger bug feeding (every 24 hours):
3 tablespoons finely chopped or grated ginger with skin.
2 tablespoons (28g) granulated sugar
Ginger Beer:
2 quarts filtered water
1 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 cup of ginger
1/2 cup (110g) strained ginger bug liquid
1/4 Tsp Cloves
*optional* Juice of 2-3 lemons
IMPORTANT NOTE
During carbonation make sure you uncork bottle once a day to release pressure, failure to do this may result in the bottle exploding.
While adding ginger bug into ginger beer recipe make sure the ginger beer is at room temperature to avoid it from killing the natural yeast.
