Rachel Naa-Du Laryea, having grown up in a traditional Ghanaian home where plantains were a staple; Fell in love and have been cooking them up in creative ways ever since. The name, Kelewele, is adopted from a popular Ghanaian street food comprised of diced plantains fried in savory spices and herbs - a favorite of her's over the years. While her business has its roots in her West African background, She incorporates Latin, Caribbean, South Asian (among others!) culinary techniques into her creations.
